Student Suspended For Lighter

An elementary school student in Virginia was suspended for bringing a lighter in the shape of a gun to school.  He told the principal he found it at a bus stop and put it in his back pack.  He was suspended for 5 days.

_____Did they really suspend a kid for a whole week of school over a lighter he found at the bus stop? that is absolutely ridiculous.  Kids that age are curious about that. I would have thought finding a cool zipo lighter in the shape of a gun would be the coolest thing at that age.  Take the lighter away and send him back to class.  Don't block him from a whole week of education. what does that teach him?
